Instructor and branch leader
Tom Abbosh Shihan (yondan, 4th degree black belt) has practiced for 25 years. He lives to champion young children with confidence and character. Drawing on his multi-championship titles, he has the experience to inspire and encourage his students with care and kindness.
As Julia Turley Shihan's second-in-command, Tom works tirelessly to lead the school and keep it alive and kicking. He harnesses traditional karate practice as the principle teaching model for his students in London and the school more widely, building on our key Budo values.
Since retiring from competition, Tom boasts vast experience delivering international tours for Great Britain students abroad. The safety and nourishment of the students is his utmost priority, supporting his sensei Julia Turley Shihan every step of the way.
Training with Julia Turley Shihan, Iwao Tamotsu Soke and his successor Yuzo Tamotsu Soke in Sohonzon, Kagoshima, many times over the past nearly three decades has granted Tom an insight into what it takes to deliver first-rate teaching excellence.
Instructor for city junior school dojo (Thursday class)
Simon Bosher Sensei (sandan, 3rd degree black belt) has practiced for almost twenty years. He has recently become a sensei as part of the London branch. Boasting many championships in both kata (form) and kumite (sparring), Simon has a lot to offer his students.
His ambition is to hand back the same love and support that his skills have taught him and to open up his own branch in the future, to continue to expand the school ethos across the wider community.
