Jamie Ellington

Jamie Ellington Senpei

Jamie is an Assistant Instructor at the Ark dojo in Turners Hill.  He commenced his training in 2007 as a 6-year-old, and achieved his 1st dan in 2014 and 2nd Dan in 2018.

Jamie competed in Japan in 2019, and is hoping to gain selection in 2023 for the World Championships. Jamie’s dream is to open a dojo in Crawley once he has settled in his career.

Ben Webster

Ben Webster Senpei

Ben is an Assistant Instructor at The Ark dojo in Turners Hill and Ardingly College dojo. He commenced his training in 2007 aged 6 and gained his 1st Dan in 2014 and 2nd Dan in 2018.  Ben loves to teach children and is also a member of the Enbu Team (display).

Ben competed in the Japan World Championships in 2019, and is a committed member of the Japan 2023 squad.

He is also a very talented photographer, and provides a valuable service to Renshinkan England.

David Holman Senpei

David is an Assistant Instructor at the Ark in Turners Hill.  He started training in 2010 after having been inspired watching his son train.  David achieved his shodan in 2017.

David loves to teach children, and is a very committed member of the school.  He is also interested in trying out for the GB team in 2023, having seen his son flourish as a result of the hard training and intense experiences during the 2019 tour.

Luke_Derrick

Luke Derrick Senpei

Luke is an Assistant Sensei at Dolphin dojo, for both Pee Wee and Junior classes.  He started training in 2012, and achieved his shodan in 2018. Luke competed in the World Championships in 2019, achieving a marvellous quarter final placing in Kumite.  Luke is determined to achieve selection for 2023.

Brandon_Shillito

Brandon Shillito Senpei

Brandon is an Assistant Instructor at the Dolphin dojo.  He commenced his karate training in 2012, at the age of 6.  He is a very committed student and excels at both Kata and Kumite.  He was a member of the 2019 GB team competing in Japan and is working very hard to achieve selection for 2023.

Ella Shuck Senpei

Ella is an Assistant Instructor at Burgess Hill Girls Dojo.  She commenced her training in 2010 as a 6-year-old.  She achieved her shodan in 2017, and competed in Japan in 2019.  She is committed to helping girls gain confidence and valuable life skills through their training in traditional karate.  She is also keen to achieve selection in 2023 to compete in Japan.

Andy_Kingstone

Andrew Kingstone Senpei

Andy is an Assistant Instructor at Burgess Hill Girls [and the Triangle]. A martial artist since the age of 7, he commenced his training with Renshinkan in 2015 and achieved 1st Dan in 2018. Andy competed in Japan in 2019 and is keen to achieve selection for 2023.

Sam_Marsh

Samuel Marsh Senpei

Sam is Assistant Instructor at the Triangle, where he commenced his training in 2011, at the age of 8. He achieved his shodan grade in 2016, nidan in 2020.   Sam competed in Japan in 2019 and is very keen to compete at an international level again in 2023.

Alma Mosquera Senpei

Alma works closely with Tom Abbosh Sensei in London.  Alma commenced her training in Panama in 1989 at 5years of age.  She achieved her Shodan in 1998, nidan in 2001 and sandan in 2020.

Alma has participated in various national and international tournaments including the 2010 World Championships in Japan.  Alma is training hard to be selected for the World Championships in 2023.

Alma also donates her time freely to the school, delivering various creative and design projects throughout the year.

Her goal is to motivate children to gain confidence and is working towards opening her own dojo in Wimbledon in the near future.

James Davies Senpei

James is an Assistant Instructor at the Dolphin Dojo in Hayward’s Heath. He started his training in 2010 aged 5 years old and achieved his 1st dan in 2017 and his 2nd dan in 2020.

James is hoping to compete and gain selection in 2023 for the World Championships.

Claire Derrick Senpei

Claire is Assistant Instructor for the Pee Wee and Junior classes at the Dolphin dojo in Haywards Heath. She commenced her training in 2015 and achieved her 1st dan in 2020.

Claire competed in Japan in 2019, and is hoping to gain selection in 2023 for the World Championships.

Teaching and life-long learning are a passion for Claire. As a founding director of an Adult Education organisation, she believes that it’s never too late to learn a new skill.
